St. Johns (Newfoundland)

Saint Johns ist die Hauptstadt von Neufundland, einer kanadischen Provinz (Labrador&Newfoundland)! Und zwar liegt Neufundland ganz im Osten von Kanada und ist eine Insel. Ich werd hier an der Westkueste der Insel fuer ca. 2 Monate bleiben. ____________________________________________________________________ Saint Johns is the Capital of Newfoundland, the canadian province (Labrador&Newfoundland)! Newfoundland is situated in the east of Canada and is an island. I'm gonna be on the west coast for ca. 2 months. ____________________________________________________________________ Saint Johns es la Capital de Newfoundland, una provincia de Canada (Labrador&Newfoundland)! Newfoundland es una isla y queda en el oriente de Canada. Yo voy a estar aca en la costa occidental para mas o menos dos meses. ____________________________________________________________________ Die Haeuser sind hier typisch aus Holz und sind bunt. Total schoen und idyllisch! ____________________________________________________________________ The houses of newfoundland are typically made of wood and colourful. Very nice! ____________________________________________________________________ Las casas de aca estan echas de madera y de muchos colores. Muy lindas!!! Und das ist das Haus in dem ich die paar Tage in St. Johns gewohnt habe... ____________________________________________________________________ And that's the house in St. Johns where I lived for a few days... ____________________________________________________________________ Y esta es la casa en la que vivi por los dias q estuve en St. Johns... Signal Hill, ein historischer und seeeehhhr windiger Ort... ____________________________________________________________________ Signal Hill, an historic and veeerrry windy place... ____________________________________________________________________ Signal Hill, un lugar historico y con muuuuucho viento... Weil der Boden ueberall mit ner dcken Eisschicht bedeckt war, konnt ich ueberhaupt nicht gut rumlaufen. Ich musste mich ueberall festhalten, um nicht weggeweht zu werden und manchmal musst ich sogar kriechen...ausserdem war 's soooo kalt! ____________________________________________________________________ Because everything was just covered with ice it was very hard to walk around. I had to hold on to everything and sometimes I had to crawl that the wind couldn't blow me over the cliff...and it was FREAZING! ____________________________________________________________________ Porq todo el piso estaba lleno de hielo casi no puedo caminar. Me toco tenerme con todo y a veces me toco en las cuatro patas para q el viento no me tumbe...ademas estuve congelandome! Am Tag drauf ist dann Judith (meine Gastmama) mit mir zum Cape Spear, dem oestlichsten Punkt von Nordamerika. (Da war ich euch ganz nah :-)) Da hab ich noch mehr von der tollen Landschaft gesehn. Voll toll, alles an Land gefrohren und das Meer daneben. Ich glaub wenn man da reinfaellt ueberlebt man nicht lang. (Anders als in Tomine, wo einem nicht mal die Luft weg bleibt :-P) ____________________________________________________________________ The next day Judith (my host mum) took me to Cape Spear, the most estern place in north america, where I could see even more of the beautiful newfoundlander landscape. It's amazing, on the shore everything is frozen and the sea right next to it. If somebody falls in there I'm shure he wont last long. (Not like in Tomine, where it doesn't even take your breath :-P) ____________________________________________________________________ El dia siguiente Judith (mi madrastra) me llevo a Cape Spear, el punto mas oriental de america del norte. Ahi podia ver mas del paisaje superlindo de newfoundland. Muy chereve, la costa toda tapada de nieve y hielo y el mar al lado. Si alguien se cae al agua ahi no va a sobrevivir mucho tiempo. (No es como en Tomine donde ni siquiera se te quita la respiracion :-P) Und das sind die riesen Kanonen, die hier im Krieg zur Verteidigung installiert wurden. St. Johns, war voll einfach zu verteidigen, da die Hafeneinfahrt sehr schmal ist. ____________________________________________________________________ And those are the huge canons, wich they installed in the war for defense. St. Johns was pretty easy to defend because of the very narrow harbour entrance. ____________________________________________________________________ Y estos son los canones q instalaron para la defensa en la guerra. St Johns era muy facil de defender porq tiene una entrada del puerto muy chiquita.
